Real Estate Marketing Drips

Don't Wait for the Other Shoe to Drop. Stand and Deliver

It's not time to back down and wait for the other shoe to drop. Now is the time to make a lasting impression on prospects.  The order takers in this business will not withstand this type of real estate market but the hunters and gatherers will.

The Internet has opened the doorto smart prospecting and made it even easier to create WOM (Word of Mouth) Marketing buzz that simmers and stirs people to action.  Now is the time to invest in your business and make sure that people know about the services that you offer.

I believe in pull marketing, but pull doesn't mean make your services a dirty little secret.  It means draw folks in with your candor, cunning (it's not a bad word, think of this as clever), and your creativity.

Here are four tips on how to become a standout in a crowded arena

1.  Resolve that you will strive to be your only competition.Resolve that you will become your only competition

First you must survey the land.  Your competition is not the real estate agents who are standing on the sidelines waiting for a drastic change to occur in the marketplace.  Your competition is not the real estate agents who are cutting back on all their advertising.  Your competition is not the real estate agents who still believe the Internet doesn't yield viable prospects and only delivers looky-loos.

Look for the real estate agents who are still winning the business and who continue to prosper.  Block the time in your calendar and dig a little deeper.  Do this sooner rather than later.

Then turn away and get started on your own consumer facing agenda.

2.  Make a plan of action.

create a nicheWho is your target market?  What are they interested in.  How can you get within their reach and deliver the information to them on a consistent basis?

Concentrate on a niche.  It will keep you dominant in this market and top of mind for new business, repeat customers, and referrals.  Go one step further and create a micro niche; A category all your own.

Keep your eyes on your market and your market on your mind.  Even though short sales and foreclosures might be considered a niche a review of current market stats in some areas might prove that it is more the norm.

3.  Commit to a positive attitude.

Winners don't prosper on defeatist thoughts.  Dominance comes Longevity comes from a hones skill of flexibililtyfrom taking continued actions that make sense until you reach a desired result.  Longevity comes from a honed skill of flexibility.

Make sure that you have a built-in time line to evaluate your business plan and don't be afraid to make changes.  You should be reviewing your progress no less than once a quarter and tweaking it as needed.  If you haven't worked on a business plan for this year don't wait until next year.

Begin to get good footing today.

4.  Keep marketing in full swing.

You don't need to spend a fortune to get great results. You shouldn't ditch spending money on smart marketing in your budget.  This is like cutting the life source of your business.

Get out of the bunker don't become lost in the sands of time

Afford great services by eliminating marketing services and products that are no longer relevant...and maybe never were.  Spend the bulk of your marketing time and money where consumers are looking the most.

Without a doubt the most popular and populated congregation hall is online.

Newspapers and all other offline traditional marketing venues know they need an online game plan.  Take care that your online game plan doesn't mean just having the portals built. You need to put a game plan in place- a marketing strategy- and you need to work it to make it work.  You need to make a plan for monetization and be willing to change.

Don't wait for the other shoe to drop.  Stand and Deliver
